The man behind MČ
Who is Marko Čergič?
Nobody knows for certain. What follows is what the cloth, the mirrors, and gravity itself have been willing to confirm.
01
He invented underwear.
Before Marko Čergič, humanity simply tucked things in and hoped for the best. One quiet afternoon in 1487 he sketched the first pair on a napkin. The napkin is now in a vault.
02
Gravity asked him for permission.
Marko doesn't fall. The floor rises to meet him as a courtesy. Physics books are being rewritten, but slowly, because the authors keep stopping to thank him.
03
He knits in his sleep.
Every night, Marko finishes two sweaters and a small diplomatic crisis. His pillow is technically a workshop and has filed its own tax returns for six years running.
04
Fashion week waits for him.
Paris, Milan, and New York have an unspoken rule: nothing begins until Marko has had his espresso. The espresso, out of respect, pours itself.
05
He cut a cloth so cleanly the scissors apologized.
Witnesses say the scissors bowed. The cloth then reassembled itself, wept briefly, and agreed to be a coat.
06
Mirrors consult him before reflecting.
If you have ever looked good in a mirror, Marko approved it in advance. He works from a small room in Ljubljana and cannot be reached directly — the mirror will know.
07
He once stared at a wrinkle until it left.
The wrinkle now lives abroad. It sends postcards. Marko does not open them; the iron opens them on his behalf.
08
Time wears MČ.
Seconds asked for a fitting. Marko obliged. This is why some moments last longer than others and why good outfits feel eternal.
